Yolanda G. Rangel Wednesday, January 24, 1962 - Saturday, July 22, 2017

Our beautiful sister Yolanda peacefully transitioned on July 22, 2017. She lived a full life and was a true warrior, bravely fighting ovarian cancer with everything she had until the time of her death where she was surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by our beloved parents Al and Elisa Rangel and is survived by 8 siblings: Gary (Leslie), Rosie (Al), Lupe (Brian), Josie (Mike), Mari, Al Jr., Jimmy (Molly), Michael (Sonya), and many amazing nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She loved GOD, her family, travel, poetry and art. She was happiest when traveling always accompanied by her favorite little red backpack and at least one mini champagne bottle. She was blessed to have been able to live and work in four different countries and travel to more than 25 nations in Europe, Asia, and South America. She was an incredibly generous spirit; warm, funny and always concerned for others. Her most cherished role in life was being an Aunt to 19 nieces and nephews and she was forever grateful to her siblings for giving her the privilege of being an Auntie. The rosary will be private. A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 28th at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary's Church located at 2051 Mt. Diablo Blvd Walnut Creek, CA. 94596. Cremains will be privately placed at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Loaves & Fishes of Contra Costa, 835 Ferry St., Martinez, CA. 94553.
