Michael McPherson Wednesday, September 21, 1955 - Sunday, April 2, 2017

Mike passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 in Alamo, CA where he was a long time resident for the past 28 years. Mike was born on September 21, 1955 and graduated from San Ramon Valley High and went on to achieve a Bachelors of Arts degree from San Diego State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He had a long and successful career he enjoyed, working at 3COM, Synoptics, Pathscale and Alteon to mention a few, where he met colleagues who would become lifelong friends. He was an avid boater, completing the Transpac boat race with his grandfather as a teenager. His love of boats continued throughout his life, often taking his boat, dog and buddies to Cabo for marlin and tuna fishing trips. Mike loved animals, particularly his Labrador Retrievers. Mike enjoyed his classic cars and riding his Harley Davidson and made many friends through his love of fast moving cars, boats and motorcycles. Many say his quick wit often outpaced his vehicles. Mike is survived by his loving wife, Karen, of almost 30 years; his mother, Sharon McPherson of Oakland, in-laws, Bob and Diane Brus of Gig Harbor, WA; brother in law Randy (Jeanne) Brus of Bend, OR; step brother Randy McPherson and partner, Karen, of San Leandro and his beloved lab, Bones and cat, Mindy. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 10:30am at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 440 La Gonda Way, Danville, CA.
