Molly Gravelle was 102 years old when she passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23rd. She was born in Tulare, California, and attended UC Berkeley. She taught high school in Salinas, where she met her husband Carl, who was stationed at Fort Ord. Molly was always interested in architecture and she designed the Sleepy Hollow, Orinda home that they moved into in 1950. She was a popular teacher for over 30 years, and taught Landscape Architecture and Mechanical Drawing at Miramonte High School in Orinda. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and she loved architecture and traveling the back roads with Carl. An avid genealogist and gardener, Molly will be remembered for her incredible backyard full of flowers, and her greenhouse of orchids. She is survived by two daughters, two grand-daughters, a great-grandson and two great-great-grand-daughters! According to her wishes, a private burial was held at Oakmont Memorial Park.
