Marguerite Dettmer Saturday, January 20, 1923 - Friday, May 26, 2017

Marguerite "Peggy" Ann Dettmer, née Zupancic, passed away at her home on Friday morning, May 26, 2017, at the age of 94. Peggy was born in Denver, Colorado on January 20, 1923. She served with the W.A.V.E.S. during World War II from 1942 to 1945. She and her husband Robert were married on September 16, 1944 at Camp Pendleton, California. They were charter members of St. Perpetua Parish. She was a president of the St. Perpetua Women's Guild and, along with her husband, was a strong supporter of the Knights of Columbus. She retired from her nursing career in 2001. Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert, of 49 years. She is survived by her five children, Robert John Dettmer of South Carolina, Deborah Guerami of California, Cynthia Bruton of Fiji, Richard Dettmer of Alaska, and Jennifer Mierau of California. Her grandchildren are Matthew and Thomas Dettmer, Mondona Regan, Monica Segobia, Marguerite Moran, and Mani Guerami. Her great-grandchildren are Hayley and Sabrina Regan, Isabelle Segobia, and Kiana Moran. A memorial vigil and rosary will be held on Thursday, June 1 at 7:00 PM at St. Perpetua Chapel, 3454 Hamlin Road, Lafayette, CA. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 2 at 11:30 AM at St. Perpetua Catholic Church with reception to follow.
